I think I've got Blogger's Block

This blog is me feeling scared that if I don't write something you will stop visiting my page so I am going to just ramble on because if I am sticking to keeping it all the way real, I have to confess that I haven't been feeling very inspired to blog lately.

It's not because I couldn't have just thrown something random out there, it's not because I have lost my writing mojo either, I mean I have been in the studio recording a lot lately and I have had to come up with lyrics on the fly. Off the cuff I seem to pull words out of thin air because the demand for them in the moment is strong.

It's not because nothing has been going on in my world or the world at large that I have found it hard to blog. I mean the other day I was part of a video shoot. I was featured on a song and a video was shot for that. It was pretty exciting. I really don't know how it will turn out. I hope it's good!

Also the collective I am part of, GK Real (http://www.myspace.com/gkreality) got nominated for 2 UMAs! (Urban Music Awards) We were nominated in the best gosopel AND best group and I was pretty shocked about that! I feel some other people deserved to be nominated not us but there were are (http://www.urbanmusicawards.net/uk_vote_now.php )

we are even up against JLS, N Dubz, Roll Deep in the best group category which I'm sure we won't win and I'm not even mad at that because to be honest we didn't get into music for awards at all. I mean we never even thought of all that! Besides when we got nominated in 2008 and went for the award show at the indigo 02, violence broke out and I saw blood flow from people stabbed with broken bottles of alcohol so I am not too keen on the UMAs.

I don't know what it is, maybe it is bloggers block? (errr that would probably be writers block right? but since I can still write lyrics maybe I don't have writer's block? LOL) Is there anything like that? I don't know.

Ok until I find a flow again, that is all.

Karl,
First off, Congrats on all your blessings and good news!

By the way, I don't think you have writer's block, sounds more like time block. Hey it happens when we have so much going on in our lives and just can't find or don't have the time. Or maybe the motivation just isn't there. It's totally understandable.

Tee
Go USA in the World Cup!

He needs a slap and hug. That will unblock the writers' block or bloggers block, but it can't be writers block since you managed to pull together a rambling we like. Hahahaha

Congrats on the nomination even if you don't sound so enthused about it. Looking forward to that album being done by the way. Am i the only one?lol

@ Tee, GO USA in the world cup indeed. And i am not ashamed to say this. LOOOL

Martha,

LOL! @ "He Needs a slap and a hug"

Virtual high five for the team support! (Smile)
My expectations are realistic, though I wish the fellas well. My first sport of choice here is the "real football" (ducks in case someone starts throwing tomatoes) ha, ha, ha, followed by basketball, and tennis.

@ Tee,

I love Tennis, i fell in love more with tennis when the William's sisters won again and again and again, and i love their success story( i love stories anyway lol). I just love the two sisters no matter what.

I don't know how the USA will do but i will support them anyway till they get knocked out lol, the fun is in watching the whole excitement of the games and the characters on the pitch (rolling and diving for no good reason, fighting with the referee and each other(not that i condone violence), but it get hillarious sometimes when they fight over nothing etc) the icing on the cake would be Brazil winning( for me), OK and any African team that can make it to finals but even if they don't i will support them till they get knocked out.

I have no clue about the 'real football'(no need to duck, you are safe here, lol).

Martha,

You got me laughing so hard over here, LOL!

Especially this: " I don't know how the USA will do but i will support them anyway till they get knocked out lol "
-Ha!, Ha!, Ha!

As for football, I was alluding to the fact that your football is considered soccer here. (smile)

@ Tee,

Hahahaha... i thought soccer is football and football is soccer, it's just that when you cross over to the USA it takes a different meaning because i guess your type of football is more popular over there and this other type is most popular else where.

But you better get it right if you cross over the pond, i tell ya, football can be people's life over here and they don't joke about it either. It is so much apart of their identity, they could shade blood on it, atleast here in scotland especially some two major teams. That bad for some.

Martha,
Buaaahhh!!!!
Yes our version is more popular here. The guys tend to be way bigger, they wear padding underneath tight uniforms, lots of hitting, and can score more points.

As far as crossing the pond, Trust me, If I'm ever fortunate to visit, I will definitely remember that, LOL!

LOL! Ooooh, the one which is like rugby, kind of any way? (ducks), i never paid any much attention to it, because i can't understand it at all, i don't know how they point score and how they count their scores or when they have scored. I guess i never paid that much attention to it, but i think i know what game you are talking about.

Martha,

Glad you ducked, LOL! Rugby?! Rugby?!! Oh Lord noooooooo!(almost faints) Ha!, Ha!, Ha!

Seriously Martha, you owe it to yourself to catch a game. They have been bringing the pro version to London the last few years with plans I believe to go back. The games on the college level are fun to watch and attend too.

Tee,
LOL! I had to duck. But that is how i have always identified it, maybe that's why i never got into it, but now i know otherwise. LOL!
I'll need to watch a few games on the television first and familiarise myself with how it all works. Then i guess i will enjoy it better. I must have missed the pro version, but knowing how folks here love their football alot, i wonder whether they would give your version enough publicity. They are very protective and reserved over here of what is 'theirs'.

Martha,

Trust me, when you see it live (or on T.V.), you'll be like soccer who? soccer what? LOL!

Hey Tee,

Since you are not into soccer(football), USA went through second round. I could not be happier for a nicer, hardworking team. They are trying hard, and doing well so far. Update from accross the pond. LOL!

Martha,

LOL!

I saw that on the news and was thrilled for them. With the way the team won, there is now talk here that this will help non-soccer fans take more of an interest in the sport...it can possibly help towards that but it will take some getting use to. It's hard when you've grown up around other sports where you can use your hands, has lots of contact, and scores more points.

@ Tee, i hear you. I can even see the way the USA team are playing. It's kind of different, there's a freeness and not so uptightness about it. I've enjoyed watching them play (the games i managed to watch), they are different in a way and their attitude is different. I hope they go abit more far.

But why is your football called football when they use hands more? I think this is the real football. Feet only. LOL!

Martha, good thing I was not drinking a soda or anything when I read this, LOL!

Well in our version, the feet are used too, for kicking (extra points, field goals, punts, Kick-offs)But with the use of the hands it just makes it much more exciting.

LOL Tee, I can imagine. There are times when i wish the footballers would use their hands to put the ball in the net.

Its a sad and happy day for me. USA out, Ghana in. I like the USA team, they are just different will be supporting them in future again. Pleased though an African team has progresses to the next level. *huge sigh of relief*

Martha,

Everyone here seems to be proud (of how well they did overall) even though the US team came up short. Hopefully they can build from this point on...

Hats off to Ghana!
